ABOUT ME
Originally from the East Coast, I moved to Seattle back in 2009 and have been here ever since. I’ve made up stories since I was a kid, and even published a poetry book in the early 2000s. I’m a voracious reader who is trying to be a voracious writer. I’m also a trained voice actor, a love that grew out of time spent in Japan, and of Japanese anime.
WHAT I’VE DONE
In addition to my one publication (more on the way!), I write a couple blogs, including one singled out for praise by my hero, the late Roger Ebert. Appropriate, then, that I’ve worked or volunteered at the Seattle International Film Festival since 2010. Besides that and Sakura-Con, I’ve also covered a few author events, including ones for Ursula K. Le Guin and Kazuo Ishiguro (right before he won the Nobel Prize).
In a past life, I spent three years teaching English in Japan, and before that, I spent a couple years as a kick-ass tour guide at the Mark Twain House (ever take the kitchen tour? I contributed research for that!).
WHAT I DO
Living in Seattle due to its good film/cultural scene (certainly not for the weather, except maybe in summer), I’m currently working with a wonderful writing friend on my horror/mystery novel and collecting other worthy scribblings for publication. I did some editing work for Carnation Books last year and am currently looking for more voice acting work so as to grow my portfolio.
